Multicultural Cast. Superheroes. Science. Spy Gadgets.
A 12-year-old African-American boy grapples with adolescence and superpowers inherited from his maternal grandmother. Marty also has a love of science and spy gadgets. He’s thrilled when his advanced science class begins working on the new CRISPR-Cas9 gene editing technology.
Christopher, Marty’s buddy since kindergarten realizes his friend has been keeping a secret. Marty’s antics in their Advanced Science classroom and in swim practice can’t be explained away. Marty’s grandmother is also getting suspicious and tells him not to use his superpowers until she says he’s ready. She used her powers to help Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. during the U.S. Civil Rights movement.
Soon, Marty has created robot soldiers who follow his every command, and worries about keeping his promise when he learns that international goons are working with the school bully to steal valuable CRISPR-Cas9 data stored at Christopher’s beloved International Spy Museum in Washington, D.C.
In Washington, D.C., Marty’s superpowers and spy gadget expertise is tested in ways he never could have imagined. The goons will stop at nothing to get the prized CRISPR-Cas9 secrets onto the private jet destined for their home country. Who will win?

Authors love writing stories to engage children. There’s nothing I love more than standing in front of kids, reading my book, answering their questions about how an author comes up with ideas and writes books, and opening their eyes to who they can become.
Every author who makes school visits, prepares ahead of time to make sure he or she will capture and keep the attention of kids, to make the visit memorable, with a lasting impact.
We understand school budgets and work hard to keep our fees reasonable.
